Our History

Jav Agencies was founded in Port Elizabeth in August 1977 by Des and Joan White. Initially, we served only Port Elizabeth and nearby areas. However, within the first year, we expanded to cover East London and the Border region. By 2001, our growth led us to extend our reach to the Garden Route and Western Cape, a move approved by our key suppliers, Scotsman Ice Machines and Staycold.

This expansion significantly boosted our business, increasing our client base. As a result, in September 2006, we appointed our son, Clyde White, as our Cape Town branch manager. While our head office remains in Port Elizabeth, we established a base in Millennium Park, Parow, Cape Town. After three successful years with the company, Clyde became the third member of Jav Agencies cc in 2009.

Today, we proudly serve over 450 dealers. While Scotsman and Staycold remain our primary suppliers, we can source a wide range of commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment for our dealer network.
